The National Association of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Council, Lagos State, has expressed sorrow over the passing of veteran labour leader and pro-democracy activist, Abiodun Aremu, describing him as a “revolutionary soldier of justice and the people’s struggle.”

PUNCH Online reports that Aremu died on Sunday, October 12, 2025, after he was reportedly hit by a vehicle around 6 p.m. while crossing the road near his residence in Ota, Ogun State.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where efforts to resuscitate him failed, and he was later pronounced dead.
